Strong earthquake hits Chile

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Chile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) announced.

The press release states that the epicenter was 23 kilometers southeast of the city of Concepción, home to about 215,000 people.

As reported by the TASS agency, the epicenter was at a depth of 32 kilometers.

There is no information about victims or caused material damage.
